Nearly 100 attendees were present at a WHObilation for the ages on Dec. 9, when Breakfast with the Grinch delighted and entertained young and young-at-heart alike.
Let’s take a quick peek behind the scenes to see some of the WHOS who made the event spectacular.
Way before the first WHO sat down to a Grinchy breakfast, Lana Ham went to work creating the custom-painted props, and she got an early start on event day, helping Justin Robertson transform to Mr. Grinch.
It’s important for any event – especially when raising funds for a non-profit organization – to spread the word, and Lavonda Cantrell and Kristin Clearman stopped by the set of Living East Tennessee to chat about Breakfast with the Grinch on Dec. 6.
Now in its second year, the event, a fundraiser for Hillcrest Healthcare Foundation, has grown and moved to a new location. “Thank you to Sacred Ground Hospice for the spacious and welcoming event space,” Lavonda said. “It was perfectly suited for the best WHObilation in Knoxville.”
Through weeks of effort, the Hillcrest Planning Committee volunteers planned menus, secured vendors, planned amazing crafts and games and made event day run smoothly. The WHOS on the committee included Trudy Durham, Susan Viera, Lisa Hooper, Kelly Hansel, Lindsay Williams, Ashley Wolard, Kim Olen, Caroline Wilder, Kristin Clearman, Karin Ringley and Diana Fisher, and we send them each a big thankWHO!
To round out the team of folks who made the event a success, we thank Dave Fisher for photography, 2 Coaches Catering for the delicious breakfast, as well as West Hills Maintenance Director Jason Hamilton, Island Home Maintenance Director Brian Boles and Katie Robertson.
In total, $2,380 was raised to support the mission of Hillcrest Healthcare Foundation, which certainly made the Grinch’s heart grow three sizes, and fun was had by all!
Well, mostly all …
We hope you and your WHOS have a very Merry GRINCHmas and encourage you to follow Hillcrest Healthcare on Facebook to keep up with all the great activities happening in our communities.
