Great strides in 2024 open doors to success in 2025

The Hillcrest Healthcare team sends our greatest hope that the new year is off to a wonderful start and that 2025 will bring you both health and happiness.

We’re looking forward to a fruitful year ahead of showing our community, our team members, our residents and our patients how we strive every day to show that Everyone Matters. With this anticipation, we also share immense gratitude for the impactful things that happened in 2024.

Hillcrest Healthcare Foundation
In 2024, multiple fundraisers in support of Hillcrest Healthcare Foundation secured tens of thousands of dollars to help further the organization’s mission and support the foundation’s Mobility is Medicine campaign.

In April, the 4th Annual Knox Rox benefit concert was a hit, with more than $9,500 raised and split between the foundation and Daily Living Center. Mark your calendar now for the 5th Annual Knox Rox on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 865 Axe Throwing.

The fifth year of the Hillcrest Healthcare Foundation Golf Tournament in October raised more than $39,000 for a worthy cause. Proceeds helped buy a wheelchair-adaptable golf cart for patients and residents at Beverly Park Place. The cart allows residents to access and use the nearby Intergenerational Playspace for therapy and recreation.

Each year, we have a Grinchy good time at Breakfast with the Grinch, and our Dec. 14 event raised $2,600 for the foundation. Mark your calendar for Dec. 13, 2025, for the next Breakfast with the Grinch.

Our team also loves to support other local nonprofit partners, such as through our involvement in the Community Action Committee’s CAC Office on Aging‘s Snowflake Ball last February that raised $68,000. We’re gearing up for the next event on Feb. 8, 2025, as a bronze sponsor.

Hillcrest at Home

Our caregiving partner, Hillcrest at Home, had a great year of providing supportive, non-medical care to help seniors maintain independence, completing more than 14,000 hours of care in 2024.

We welcomed a new director, Karin Ringley, who is passionate about supporting seniors and connecting them with the resources they need.

Hillcrest at Home continues to serve clients in Knoxville and Knox County and, through continued growth, is now serving clients in Blount, Grainger, Jefferson, Loudon, Monroe, Sevier and Union counties.

A new Hillcrest at Home transportation program serves residents in the three Hillcrest Healthcare communities as well as at-home clients with expansion goals in 2025, through partnership with Hillcrest Healthcare Foundation in support of Mobility is Medicine and Tuggle Transport, honoring the late Brian Tuggle, former director of Hillcrest at Home.

Hillcrest Healthcare communities
In our three Hillcrest Healthcare communities, West Hills, Beverly Park Place and Island Home, we try to never miss an opportunity to celebrate holidays, seasons, current events and people. Our patients and residents enjoy doing crafts and having special visitors, fun decorations, special food and more.

Additionally, we had some special celebrations in 2024, including CNA Week in June, when we shared our love for the CNA teams in all communities. In August, we were recognized at the Tennessee Health Care Association’s Annual Convention and Trade Show when three of our team members earned accolades. In September, we launched Everyone Matters Week when our teams and residents celebrated with special events with a renewed focus on culture.

The Mason Center for Healthcare Education

Our education partner, The Mason Center for Healthcare Education, is a non-profit center that offers certification programs for individuals who want to pursue or grow careers in the senior care industry, including skilled nursing, assisted living and long-term care fields. We saw continued growth in students and courses in 2024 and will keep pursuing growth in 2025 and beyond. If you are ready to launch or expand your healthcare education, please visit The Mason Center for Healthcare Education.
