Island Home, a Hillcrest Healthcare community, has earned national recognition with the 2020 Bronze Commitment to Quality Award, which focuses on performance excellence in long-term and post-acute care.
“A distinction like this belongs to every team member at Island Home,” said Barry Davis, president and chief executive officer of Hillcrest Healthcare. “Our employees and caregivers are integral to our ability to provide high-quality, compassionate care and fulfill our mission that everyone matters. I congratulate Island Home and Administrator Trudy Durham for this well-deserved recognition.”
The Bronze Commitment to Quality Award is bestowed by the American Healthcare Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL).
The AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program provides a pathway for providers of long-term and post-acute care services to achieve performance excellence. Implemented in 1996 by AHCA/NCAL, the program is centered on the core values and criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program – leadership, strategy, customers, workforce, operations, results and measurement, analysis and knowledge management. These criteria are the foundation of the metric-based awards.
Overall, 710 centers in 49 states received the 2020 Bronze Commitment to Quality Award. Tennessee’s 51 Bronze recipients were the most of any state.
Island Home will be honored at the 2020 AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award’s virtual celebration on Oct. 22.
